The site information.
The pre session brief.
Before and after shots - working on the entrance arch.
Working in the butterfly meadow.
Tea break - with quite a few GGmers in attendance.
Just one of the piles of cut material.
The finished meadow.
We found several small frogs that were carefully "re-housed".
Each year, about this time, we come along to this site to give it an end of summer makeover. Although several small (but still important!) tasks were undertaken but the main event was to cut back all the growth at butterfly meadow. Some of our previous visits here were plagued by "damp" weather but today it could not have been better - blue sky, light winds and pleasantly warm. All the more amazing considering it was the 1st of November...! Terry's excellent photographs beautifully illustrate the area before we started work and just how much improved it was by the end of the session. Well done every one!
For those of you who live over in East Wight (or those who visit), perhaps you might be interested in this nature reserve at Seaview.
At the moment they are having a bit of a planning issue and are looking for people to sign their petition. If you feel so inclined, then please use the following link.
