Terry's Photographs.
The pre-session briefing.
Hard at work..!
Tea break.
We found LOADS of these...!
"King Alfred's Cakes"
Looking much tidier.
Just some of the rubbish we collected.
Now...doesn't this look better..?
Another new site for us this week, this time it was at Moorgreen Road Reservoir which is in Cowes. The actual reservoir was drained and filled in many years ago and we were working on the northerly bank, which had become a very overgrown dumping ground. As can be seen from the photos above, a wide range of rubbish was dragged out of the brambles and undergrowth - anything that could be (glass, cans etc) will be recycled - the remainder is destined for the skip! The woodland walk pathway was established and cleared with overhead branches being trimmed back to give easy access. It is planned to open this area to the public at a later date.
Next week we will be out at West Wight continuing with the bamboo removal at Afton Marsh.
Many thanks to Terry for the photographs.
