"The Boss" giving Team GG the rundown for
the task in hand.
Hey. ..Ho...it's off to work we go...!
Getting stuck in.
Well, it is January so we have to have a fire..
and what a fire it was..!
Note that you can now see "North Island" through the trees.
A seasonal visitor enjoying some crumbs.
Looking a bit thinner now.
Our co-workers for the day.
Now..that's what you call coppicing...!
First off, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best for the New Year - let's hope the weather is kind to us on every Wednesday in 2019 👏.
So, with all the excess of the holiday behind us, it was off to Bouldnor for the first GG session of 2019. After a quick briefing from Mark and a stroll to the work site - this time it was between the costal path and the shoreline - work got underway. We were told to coppice the undergrowth and trees to the north of the path, leaving a barrier zone along the edge. The photographs above show what excellent progress was made during the session and in several places, enough was cleared to give wonderful views across the Solent with the Mainland in the distance. A roaring bonfire soon disposed of the cut material. This was a very well attended session and although the weather was a little cooler than that over Christmas / New Year period, it was still very pleasant to be working out doors.
Many thanks to Terry for the photographs this week.
