Wednesday 23rd April 2025 - GG Tool Store, Newport GG #1027

A cowslip (Primula veris) found by the gate

This week was slightly different to our usual efforts in the countryside.  Due to bird nesting season there’s a hiccup in the work available for us, so a small group of GG-ers turned up at the GG Tool Store in Newport to check over our equipment.

The van was cleared out and swept clean.  Loppers and shears had their blades sharpened, bowsaws had blades replaced and wheelbarrows were repainted with ‘GG’.  A small generator that had been donated to us was checked over and after quite a bit of effort, persuaded to start.  We had also had a donation of some slashers (quite some time ago) and these were checked over and their blades sharpened.  The charity bags recovered from the Jubilee Woodland last week were sorted out and the usable ones bagged up for future use.  All in all, it was a useful, productive session.

Thank you to Terry for the photos.
